Alviro Petersen chats about his family in his latest blog

Posted on 12th August 2016

I have just had to say goodbye to my family who have now gone back to South Africa after being over here in England with me for a little while this summer.

My wife is expecting our second baby in October so she is unable to fly after a certain time so has gone back earlier with our son Jason, who is three and a half years old.

We have told Jason that he has got a little sister coming along so he knows all about it and I think he is looking forward to it.

Lancashire Update

Posted on 15th May 2016

Things are going really well for me this summer with Lancashire where this season I am very much the senior batsman in the side, which with a lot of younger players in the side puts a lot of responsibility on my shoulders.

At the start of the season a lot of people had written us off and predicted that we would be relegated but instead of that we are fighting it out at the other end of the table and could even claim the championship title.

I know that there is a lot of cricket still to play but if we carry on the way that we have been so far and pick up a couple of wins here and there then we will be right in the mix, but it is all about taking one game at a time.

it’s good to be back at the County Ground! - August 2014

It is always great to be back here at the County Ground and to fell part of the Somerset changing room again.

This is a good time to come back because we are still in with a chance of reaching the last eight of the 50 over one day competition and also lifting the championship title for the first time ever, which would be some feat and Id love to be part of that.
